This is the digital module "ANSI 67 - Directional overcurrent" for Micrologic X trip unit on MasterPact MTZ offer. A digital module is an advanced function that can be uploaded in Micrologic X trip unit at any stage of the product life cycle. Digital modules allow you to customize MasterPact MTZ circuit breaker to your specific needs. The digital modules are available 24/7 on the Schneider Electric GoDigital store (godigital.schneider-electric.com). The upload of the digital modules is made without interrupting power, using EcoStruxure Power Commission software and a USB cable. This digital module is used to generate an alarm or a trip for reverse direction overcurrent and forward direction overcurrent protections. The protection picks up when the current reaches its upper limit, the associated timer is elapsed and according to the current direction of the fault (reverse or forward). Per convention, reverse direction is given for an overcurrent flowing from the bottom terminals to the top terminals of the Masterpact MTZ. Forward direction is given for an overcurrent flowing from the top terminals to the bottom terminals of the Masterpact MTZ. The Directional overcurrent protection requires the Micrologic X control unit to be supplied by an external 24 V dc power supply. The Micrologic X control unit firmware greater than or equal to V004.000.xxx) is compatible with this digital module. Earlier firmware versions need to be upgraded. The benefit is to avoid black-out in case of short circuit on the source side in low voltage installation with multiple power sources running in parallel. By the same way, it avoids a black-out in case of short circuit on the bus bar side in low voltage installation with multiple power sources running in parallel and with a bus tie.
